Alternative Print Processes

JOHN DAVENPORT  Ability: All Levels 
Discover the historic alternative darkroom processes of Van Dyke Brown and Cyanotype printing in this photographic-based survey covering the origins and contemporary uses of each process. Learn to mix each solution, to select paper or other substrates, and experiment with combination and large format printing, using The Keepers of Light by William Crawford and The Book of Alternative Photographic Processes by Christopher James as reference.

NEW! Pinhole Photography
JOHN DAVENPORT  Ability: All Levels
Learn about photography’s simplistic origins and understand the basics of film photography by building your own traditional pinhole camera or a variety of pinhole caps for your DSLR camera. Experiment with this fun and accessible photographic process as you shoot and process traditional black and white pinhole photographs in a darkroom, or shoot and print your digital pinhole photographs on a small-format printer.

Creative iPhone Photography
KAREN DIVINE  Ability: All Levels 
Join Karen Divine, known internationally for her iPhone composite work, and learn to use this incredible tool to explore a world of abstractions, reflections and layers. Using a variety of iPhone apps like Juxstaposer, Image Blender, Hipstamatic, and Scratchcam FX, learn to find the ‘magic in the mundane’ and to express your unique vision as a photographic artist. Special note: An iPhone and additional apps are required. See supply list for details.
